under-twenty20 Picked Ups: RealTechniques Brushes

I recently placed two orders with a online shop here in Singapore called under-twenty20, they sell Burt's Bees, Covergirl, Hard Candy, Stila, Tarte, Wet n Wild, Neutrogena and many more brands that aren't readily available in Singapore.

I placed two orders since an item I was going to get was out of stock and came back into stock like 2 days after I placed my first order!  I haven't used them yet so I'll have a reviews coming up later.

Here is what I got:

I may have gone a bit crazy, but I have been eyeing these brushes for so long I couldn't resist!

 

1. The Starter Set: S$32

Also if you spend over S$80 you get a free Napoleon Perdis Loose Eye Dust, and since my mum got some brushes too, we ended up with 3 of them haha!

As for delivery, the first order was sent out last Friday and the second order was sent out on Monday with an expected delivery time of 3 working days. Both packages arrived with registered mail which is S$2.50 (which I would recommend since some customers have lost their packages recently) on Wednesday!

Payment was through paypal, which I personally enjoy using because it's pretty easy. I wanted to buy a lot more (like Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushers!) but I contained myself.

I am always concerned when buying products online that they aren't going to be authentic, however I already own the expert face brush and I can verify that they are the real deal! YAY

Sleek Blush by 3 ~ Lace (No.367)

This was my first ever Sleek product since it isn't sold here in Singapore. However there are a few products available on Luxola, but not this particular product.

I actually asked my cousin to bring it over from England when he visited, and he did so thank you! (:

From the title you've probably guessed I'm talking about the Sleek Blush by 3 in 367 Lace.

The packaging is so sleek eh? (Yes, I made that joke :P )

Concept

"The Blush by '3' palette has been formulated with intense pigment yet the shades can be layered in order to achieve the required intensity".

From left to right we have: Chantilly, Guipure, Crochet (which are different beautiful types of lace, hence the name!)

Chantilly is a matte tangerine orange.

Guipure is a shimmery orange/gold with random silver glitter

Crochet is a matte burnt orange/red.

 Shade

Natural daylight

All three shades are extremely pigmented. You get 20g for £10 (~S$20). I like the packaging, however it has a huge mirror, which I think is quite unnecessary for a blush palette, because I don't ever take blush with me when I go out.

As with any matte product, application can be quite patchy but it's nothing that can't be fixed.

 I would definitely recommend that when first applying this, less is definitely more. It's easier to add more product than to take it away.Also the wear of these blushers is nice.

Guipure looks lovely layered over the NYX Stick Blush in Orchid, which you can view here.

There is a few other shades available in the Blush by 3 range: Pink Sprint, Sugar, Flame and Pumpkin.

This is the only palette that really stood out to me. It is also the most wearable in my eyes. If you want to see the other shades, you can click here.

Review: NYX The Crimson Amulet Collection

Hello!

About two weeks ago I was surfing my favourite online stores and I found this palette from NYX and I knew I had to buy it. When this first came out in the U.S and I saw people using it on Youtube, I was kind of jealous! I didn't think it would come to Singapore, so I had to nab it when I saw it.  I purchased mine from TheSpectrumshop for S$38.50,  I checked the website and it is actually now sold out. I did however find it on ebay.com.sg for roughly about S$45. (Also on ebay.co.uk, and it is now on sale on the NYX website, NYXcosmetics.com, for US$15).

So as you may or may not know, this palette is inspired by the movie, Dark Shadows. It contains  24 eyeshadows, 4 double ended sponge tip applicators, 4 lipglosses, 1 Illuminator, 5 Blushers, 1 HD Shadowbase and 1 liquid liner. This palette opens up like a book. On the first side are the eyeshadows.

The first set of eyeshadows:

Row 1: Matte Black, Light champagne with silver glitter, Matte plum with gold and purple glitter and copper frost.

Row 2: Pinky lilac frost with silver glitter, frosty gray/taupe, frosty browny champagne and matte black with blue glitter.

Row 3: Matte blue with blue shimmer, forest green base with green glitter,  orangey brown base with gold glitter and plumy brown base with gold, purple and blue glitter.

Second set of eyeshadows:

Row 4: Matte cream, matte chocolate brown, light brown sheen and shimmery white.

Row 5: Brown with purple sheen, matte dark brown, light pink frost with glitter and matte charcoal

Row 6: Light champagne pink frost, light taupe frost, bronze frost with gold shimmer and yellow with gold sheen.

The middle flap that separates the two sides of makeup, has a mirror on one side and 3 character looks from the movie on the other side. It doesn't actually tell you how to recreate the looks which is strange, but I guess you could just recreate it with your imagination and add your own twist on it.

On the last page there are the rest of the products:

The first two blushers are matte.

Blush 1: Matte baby pink
Blush 2: Matte burgundy

The next  two blushers are glittery.

Blush 3: Dusty pink with gold shimmer

Blush 4: Dark barbie pink with gold glitter

The last blusher is a mix of blush 3 and 4.

Next is the illuminator which is a light pearly colour, I think it would probably look quite ashy on darker skin colours since it is so light. Probably to help get the pale vampire look.



I usually hate having lipgloss in a palette because the eyeshadows always go into them and it is quite unhygienic, however in this palette they have a plastic sheet over them so they can stay clean! I also love the choice of colours. The first two are a dark ruby red and a nudey pink and the other two are a bright fuchsia pink and a nudey brown.

And finally you get a tiny sample of HD Shadow Base and Liquid Black Liner (all eyeshadows were swatched over the HD Shadow Base).

Pros:

•  The graphics on the front with the spooky house are cool.
• The format of the book is cool, I don't have other palette like it.
• I like the big mirror and how you can literally create a whole look (minus mascara).
• The plastic sheet over the lipgloss is a good idea to keep them clean.
• The variety of matte, shimmer and glitter shadows helps to create dynamic looks.

Cons:

• The book format, although cool is quite inconvenient for travelling just like all palettes are.
• Some shadows aren't that greatly pigmented unless over a base (aka the 4th row)
• The HD Shadowbase is really messy and mine actually oozed out of the lid! ewwwww.

 

 



Overall, I really love this palette and I would recommend it to you guys, especially if you want to experiment with darker, bolder looks!
